Who Are We - What Do We DoDDB Stock Photography specializes in photographic coverage of Latin America and the Caribbean. Our picture files comprise one of the largest collections of Latin American images in the world. Our picture library includes over 500,000 color transparencies of subjects from Mexico, Central America, South America and the Caribbean Basin.
DDB Stock Photography opened for business in 1970. The picture library currently includes the work of 110 professional photographers who contribute thousand of new images a month to keep our coverage up-to-date. DDB Stock Photography only markets rights managed (RM) images. Our images are not mass-marketed as commodities on Royalty Free CD-ROM. None of our images are over exposed and in common usage. Image uniqueness is key to our success. We carefully cull out old images that have become dated and have no historical value.
We do not create recombinant, hybrid "PhotoShopped images. Our images either exist in nature or are so dramatically altered that there is no possibility they would be mistaken for editorial photography born in the camera. Our pictures are unique and real captured moments in time that depict authentic, unretouched content recorded on film or digitally. However, we do retain Photoshop experts on staff who can create professional, recombinant hybrids for clients that specifically request them.
Agency picture researchers know Latin America very well and know the agencies image files even better. They can quickly locate images of obscure subjects in the carefully keyworded files. We offer free photo research and put up customized lightboxes with Jpegs for clients to review over the Internet. Staff technicians are available to professionally scan high resolution, publication quality TIFF files and set them up for easy download by clients that selected them during self service research in the digital files or picked them from customized lightboxs set-up by DDB staff.
DDB Stock Photography is very digital and employs professional scanners to convert the film files to digital images that may be searched and downloaded from our Website. We can meet any digital image delivery need. Almost all our photographers have converted to digital and are expert in the technology. Images selected from their digital submissions are quickly setup on the Website where they may be searched and downloaded. We currently have over 20,000 hi-res digital images on the website that are available for immediate download
